Crafters of Faith Creation Challenge

Good Morning All!  Today my card is for the Crafters of Faith group I belong to.  We were to make a card with a "creation" theme.  We could use anything from flowers, trees-something that reminds us of God's beautiful world.  I am a mountain lover, so the image was easy enough to choose. I did have a bit of a fit in the coloring, did it more than once!  (she said with a chuckle, because she loves to color!)
The image comes from a Gina K Designs set called "Happy Camper", by Theresa Momber, one of my stamping heroes. That girl is seriously good with color and sponging.
Try as I might to bling this baby up, I just couldn't get anything to look right.  I tried ribbon, rhinestones, pearls, brads.  Guess you just can't add to God's beautiful work.  The verse I used, Psalms 46:10, describes how I feel when I am on the top of a mountain peak and can see for MILES.  It is so QUIET and the beauty of creation is all around you.
Cardstock is from Stampin' UP! and Bazzill. I colored the image with Koh-i-nor pencils and blended with mineral spirits.  I used my ancient Fiskars Deckled Edge scissors to trim the verse.  I still love those little beauties!
Be sure to check the sidebar for links to the other ladies blogs to check out their "creations".
Thanks so much for stopping in today, and take a minute to slow down, breathe in and enjoy God's Creation!.

Dustin Pike Elephant Valentine

Happy day to everyone! I hope you are looking forward to a great weekend! I know I am, I will be spending some stamping time with my sister, Terri on Sunday-can't wait. We have such a fun time together! I am working on Valentine's Day cards for my grandkids + one, so you will be seeing alot of kiddie type cuties in the next several days! Today my card has a digi from Dustin Pike. If you are not familiar with his work, you need to take the time to check him out. He does outrageously funny cartoon like images. A visit to his blog will just make you smile, the above link is for his store, you can get to his blog from there.

Isn't this elephant a cutie? I colored him with my Koh-i-nor pencils and blended with OMS. Card stock is from Stampin'Up, DP from DCWV and ribbon is Offray. The side panel was run thru my Cuttlebug, using the Divine Swirls Embossing Folder. I can't decide if I should send this card to Alyah in England or my + one, Madison in Alabama....what do you think?
Thanks so much for looking in today! Blessings!

Today I used Alien Sid, he is one in a group of alien buddies that Janie has. I just love them all! I plan to use them for grandkid cards, both boy and girl.

Happy Birthday Avi!

My card today is for my granddaughter Avi's 8th
birthday. Her birthday is really on Monday.
I' m sending the link to this post in the card.
Then she will be able to go online and see the card,
plus any birthday greetings that you might
want to share with her. I think she will get a kick
out of it, don't you? So to join the fun, you can
leave her a "Happy Birthday" comment on this post!
We are traveling and can't be there for her big day,
so I hope this makes her smile. Card stock used on
this card is from DCWV. DSP is Stampin'
Up! I used my Cuttlebug and Small Scalloped Nestie

from way back. I colored her with my Koh-i-nor pencils

Squiggle Harvest

Happy Wednesday to you! While surfing my usual blog menu yesterday,
my friend Maria, at Joyful Stamper, had new images from Squigglefly. They are new digi stamps and are just plain CUTE! Since I am traveling in an RV and don't have alot of space, but still have the need to stamp....Digi stamps are perfect.
My card base is Gina K Luxury Chocolate Kiss, DSP is retired Stampin' UP! Ribbon from JoAnns, as are the leaf stickers. I colored this image with my Koh-i-nor pencils and then used OMS to blend. I am so pleased how it turned out. Check out the Squigglefly site, you will be glad you did!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and God Bless!

Monte's Big Hurt

Good Morning from Lamar, Colorado! We are
almost to our destination in Texas, only about 8 to 9 more hours of driving left. It has been a nice trip, but I don't get alot of stamping time......
Anyway, today's card is for my BIL Monte. He had surgery last Wednesday after falling from the 3rd step of his deck at 4:30 a.m. I'm thinking of telling him to hire an electrician to install a light out there (HE'S an electrician!! And about the most safety conscious guy I know.....) Well, if he has this lovely nurse chasing him with that big hypodermic needle, he will follow doctors orders, right! The image is one I stamped off at my sis's house the summer (thanks Patti!) It is from the Golden Oldies line, I believe. Card base is retired SU, pattern paper is DCWV. Chocolate Kiss strip is Gina K. Image is colored with Koh-i-nor Pencils and blended with OMS.
I hope Monte enjoys this card and gets better soon!
Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Crazy 4 Challenge C4C3

Good Morning! Is it feeling like fall where you are? We are beginning to get a bit of briskness in the morning. My card today has fall look to it. It is for the Crazy 4 Challenge, hop on over and check them out! My sis, Patti turned me on to them. The card base is Gina K Chocolate Kiss Pure Luxury (yummy stuff!) , layered with Old Olive (SU), which is textured with a Quikutz embossing folder and my precious Cuttlebug. Golden pattern paper is from DCWV. Twill ribbon is Stampin'Up! as is the fall tree (Lovely As a Tree) I colored it with my Koh -i-nor pencils, then used Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gina K). Brads are from JoAnn's Fabric and Craft store.
I had fun with this sketch challenge, having the layout done for you is just such an inspiration!
Have yourself a great fall day! God Bless and thanks for stopping by!

Oldie But Cutie!

Good Day! Well, the other day my sister and I were discussing the cutesy images we've seen lately and how there sure were getting to be a lot of them! So what did I do but go in a find one of my oldies but goodies. This image came from Close To My Heart many years ago. It was one of the first stamps I ever bought. Hasn't seen ink for a looooong time. So here goes......couldn't get those pesky brads straight for anything!

Supplies: Paper-Gina K Luxury 120 White, Whisper White, Light Blue, DSP- Stampin' Up! Accessories-Small Button Brads-Gina K , Ribbon-Offray, Kohn-i-noor Pencils, OMS, Dimensionals to pop up image panel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOBERT!

Today is my bro-in-laws birthday. To help him celebrate, I sent this card. He probably won't get it until tomorrow, I'm sure he doesn't read my blog, so I'm not too worried. :0). (Patti-don't show him....just know that it is on the way....) The sketch is from this card by Tavias Charms on SCS.

The card base is Gina K Luxury white. DP is from DCWV. The image is set on a Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up! ) panel. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with my Koh-i-nor pencils and OMS. I just love the effect when I use these! I restamped the fishing hat and popped it up with a dimensional. I think it really added to the look. The sentiment comes from an Inkadinkado set. I used chalk to shade the background. The SU twill ribbon completes the card.
Bob-I hope you enjoy this card! Have a Happy, Happy Day!

Thanks for stopping by today! God Bless!
