Crafters of Faith Creation Challenge

Good Morning All!  Today my card is for the Crafters of Faith group I belong to.  We were to make a card with a "creation" theme.  We could use anything from flowers, trees-something that reminds us of God's beautiful world.  I am a mountain lover, so the image was easy enough to choose. I did have a bit of a fit in the coloring, did it more than once!  (she said with a chuckle, because she loves to color!)
The image comes from a Gina K Designs set called "Happy Camper", by Theresa Momber, one of my stamping heroes. That girl is seriously good with color and sponging.
Try as I might to bling this baby up, I just couldn't get anything to look right.  I tried ribbon, rhinestones, pearls, brads.  Guess you just can't add to God's beautiful work.  The verse I used, Psalms 46:10, describes how I feel when I am on the top of a mountain peak and can see for MILES.  It is so QUIET and the beauty of creation is all around you.
Cardstock is from Stampin' UP! and Bazzill. I colored the image with Koh-i-nor pencils and blended with mineral spirits.  I used my ancient Fiskars Deckled Edge scissors to trim the verse.  I still love those little beauties!
Be sure to check the sidebar for links to the other ladies blogs to check out their "creations".
Thanks so much for stopping in today, and take a minute to slow down, breathe in and enjoy God's Creation!.

Two More for Avi

Good Morning!  Boy, this week as sure flown by!  I have been busy doing some knitting and cooking and other fun things!  Today, I have two more cards that I sent to my granddaughter.

This first one is for a friend who is a boy. It is pretty clean and simple.

This card is for another of Avi's girlfriends.  I cut the purse with my Cuttebug and added a butterfly brad fro Stampin' Up! and a couple of rhinestone blingys at the corners of the purse. Again, it is pretty simple.  The insides of these cards were left blank so that Avi could write whatever she wants.
As usual, cardstock is from Stampin' Up! and pattern paper is DCWV. The small flower stamps on the girl card come from a Gina K Designs set.  The car stamp is a clear stamp from many moons ago....

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Be Blessed!!

Hidee Ho and Happy Monday!

It is late afternoon here, I have spend a goodly portion of my day playing with paper and it was WONDERFUL!!  My oldest granddaughter calls me just about every Sunday afternoon and when we spoke yesterday, she said that 4 of her friends were having birthdays soon, so I told her I would whip up some cards for her.  She liked that idea, but said to me "I'll try not to be too disappointed if you can't get them done, Grammy."  She is thinking about times when I was working and couldn't get into the paper mood.  Then I reminded her that I was no longer working, so I should be able to get them for her. I cranked out all four today.  Pretty happy with myself if I do say so........2 cards a day is usually my max!. I'll share two today and two on another day-how's that work for ya?  First the two that I like the best:

And then there is this one:

I tried to make the cards have a more "grown up" feel for her, after all she is 10 years old now (she keeps reminding me).  I didn't put a sentiment on them because I wanted Avigale to feel free to write whatever she wanted. As you can see, I'm kind of  a clean and simple kinda of gal.  Pretty straight-forward and not a lot of fluff.....just me.

The cardbase on each card is Stampin' Up!, layers are from DCWV Big Summer Stack (both patterned paper and cardstock).  Used my Cuttlebug (LOVE that BUG!!) to cut the shapes and added bits of blingage that I had stuffed away, free from all harm!

Hope you enjoy my offerings today!  Wishing you a peaceful evening!!

Crafters of Faith Color Challenge

I'm a made in America, Patriotic, Americana kind of girl so I was pretty excited my my sister Patti, gave me these colors with which to build a card. The assignment comes from a challenge from the Crafter's of Faith, a small group of ladies I am privileged to belong to. Each gal was to give a color combination to another one and we were to take it and build a card. My colors were Very Vanilla, Blue and Bravo Burgundy.  Although my colors aren't exact, they are reasonably close and I am pleased with the outcome.

Recipe:
Cardbase-Gina K Luxury Ivory, Bazill-Blue cardstock, Stampin' Up-Bravo Burgundy,
DCWV-Summer Stack-Pattern Paper, Spellbinders-Circle and Scallop Circle Nestibilities,
Misc.-USA letters, Silver dots, Pop Dots.

Please take some time to enjoy the other creations from the talented groups of paper lovers.  There are links to all their blogs on my sidebar.
Thank you for stopping in today and BE BLESSED!!

MOJO 224

Good Snowy Morning All!
My card today is for the MOJO Monday Challenge 224.  These have always been such fun challenges.  I haven't entered often, but I do enjoy looking at everyone's creations.  The VERVE girls are a pretty awesome bunch.

The colors look better in real life-I promise.  It has been so hard to get good light with the weather we are having.  I'll continue to work on that.  Most everything here is from my unorganized stash, Stampin' Up! always plays a big part in my creations, as well as Nestibilities.  The pattern paper is from a stack my sister Terri gave to me, from Kioshi Paper Company.  Fun patterns!
Thank you for stopping by today!  Stay warm and dry.

Crazy 4 Challenge C4C119

Oh Happy Day!  It's a beautiful, crisp day here in central Washington.  Perfect day to stay inside, 'cuz it's COLD, baby!  7 degrees! DH is home today because of the MLK holiday.  He has some carpentry plans today.  Onward, stamping soldiers to my card.........

I made this card with the Crazy 4 Monochromatic Blue   C4C119 challenge in mind.  I have had the patterned paper for quite some time, it is so pretty, it was hard for me to use. I just don't want to part with it I guess.   Cardstock comes from Stampin' Up! and Bazzil. Nestibilities were used to cut the shapes and a bit of vellum and butterfly punch from Martha Stewart adorns the oval blue that was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. Sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by today!  God Bless!

Good Day All!  Today my card is for my grandson, Asher, whose birthday was Friday.  We are going to his house for his birthday party today.  He had a pretty rough start, being 5 weeks early and had some issues that caused him to stay in the NICU for several .  He was wired to all kinds of contraptions!  Now he is 4 years old and wired in a VERY little boy way.  He has a great imagination and we enjoy pretending with him!

Cardstock is Stampin' Up! Pattern paper is from a DCWV 12 x 12 Summer paper pack from 2009. The image is from Annabelle Stamps- Lil Monster Balloons.   He is colored with COPICs (I need to get better at my shading).  I put to small star brads on his shirt and the large star on the balloon is a button.  I apologize for the shadows in the picture, just couldn't find any good light this morning. :0(

I plan to enter this in the Annabelle Stamps Anything Goes Challenge this week.
Thanks so much for dropping in today!  Be Blessed!!

Gettin' My Feet Wet Again!

So I spent a goodly portion of yesterday getting to know my paper stash again. There's some good old friends in there! What you might not know about me is that my hubby and I are full time RVers. We live in a 37 foot fifth wheel, so my crafting space is minimal, but I am THANKFUL for it. Since we started this RV journey 2 1/2 years ago, we have upgraded from a 29' 5th wheel with no slides to this one. It has 3 slides!! I am blessed! I even have a washer/dryer. Life is good!! " So on to my card," (she said with fear and trembling, since she hasn't posted for such a long time!!)

What I can tell you is that the cardstock and DP that I used is from Stampin' Up! I spy nestibilities in there also and the use of some ancient flower punches. The sentiment is from Verve a few years ago. I haven't purchased many stamping goodies in the last year, I'll try to remedy that soon! : 0).......

I hope you enjoy my offerings today, I did get my feet wet......and they are COLD! Its only 18 degrees here. BRRRR!

Thanks for stopping by and BE BLESSED!!!!

I Might Be Back......

Good Morning ! After some gentle prodding-okay-BIG SISTER prodding, (thanks Patti!) I've gotten back on the stamping/papercrafting wagon. it has been a VERY long time since I last posted, a flood of water is under the bridge. When I posted in June 2010, I was in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota working, now DH and I are in Moses Lake, WA working. We were both working for the University of Washington, at the end of December, I resigned my position and now I am an Executive Domestic Engineer! Lovin' this position!! All that to say, that I now should have more crafting time! WOOHOO!!

My hunk of a husband and I are planning a trip to England in April to see our youngest son and his family. They are are in the military and stationed there. We have not seen Jim for 2 years, so this momma is pretty anxious.

I've spent a bit of time stamping cards for my grandkids and doing some knitting. So I may post pictures of knit projects too. I hope you enjoy them.

~Blessings!!
