Trees....I love this set!

I just love the "Lovely as a Tree" set from Stampin' Up! I have used it often. This time it is for an older gentleman that shares the same birthday as my husband. Ron is a sweet man who cares deeply for people and he is a such a good friend. Currently, he is taking care of his wife who is quite sick with cancer. This takes such a strong person, to be compassionate and loving when times are so tough. Happy Birthday my friend!

This is a pretty simple card. If you have any wonderings about it please email me. I am off to do some running for my hubby! Thanks for stopping by today. God Bless!

Autumn Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday! I am SOOO late in posting today. I had a busy morning. We are getting ready for a weekend business trip and I have several loose ends to tie up. My card today is a Birthday card for someone with a fall birthday. Card base and yellow that the "Happy Birthday" is stamped on are from Stampin' Up! Other stock and sunflower strip are from DCWV. I used a chubby oval punch for the embellishment on the left side, accented with a fall leaf brad. Dew Drops are from Robin's Nest.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to get back to regular blogging early next week. Have a wonderful weekend!! God Bless!

Be Still......

Happy Day to you all! Today's card is titled "Be Still" and for very good reason. I am waiting.......and waiting......not very patiently to hear about a job. UMMMMMMM...........
I really am trying to "be still". When I am really anxious about something, I get alot done that I have been putting off, so I guess all is not lost. ;0).
Today's card is a potpourri of ideas that have been banging around in my head:

All cardstock is Stampin' Up! Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, White. Scripture stamp is also from SU. The flower image is from a Heidi Grace set. Ribbon was purchased at Walmart and Rhinestone drops at JoAnn's. The So Saffron layer was run thru the Cuttlebug. I used the Threading Water Edger from Fiskars and White fabric paint on the ribbon.
Have a great fall day! Thanks for stopping by. God Bless!

WOW! Check Out This Cause....

While perusing thru my daily blog list, I came across this information on Dawn Easton's blog. Carolyn King, has posted a Blog Candy for a Cause challenge to us all. She would like to have as many cards made to Alzheimer caregivers to say "Thank You", as we can come up with.....I know there are a bunch of us out there who would love to help. Check out her link above for all the details and send someone a special thank you.......below is the card I'm sending.

The image is one I have had for a really long time, I purchased it from Close to my Heart years ago. I woke up the other night, thinking.......I could color that spray with fall colors. This is what I came up with, I know the reds in the spray look sort of pinky, but they are really a nice fall red. The card base is Riding Hood Red, layered with Cream Confetti that I ran thru the Cuttlebug, using the Swiss Dots EF. I layered the image with YoYo Yellow and Brilliant Blue cardstock. (all card stock is Stampin' Up!) The borders are embellished with pearl dew drops.
Thanks for looking again today and be sure and check out the important blog links mentioned above! Have a happy day and God Bless!!

Got Cake?!

Sorry I have been absent again......I have finished taking my classes and now am studying for a Certification test, so my brain cells are really tired! Also, I had an interview on Friday. I think things went well. They are still interviewing candidates today and I hope to hear from them sometime tomorrow. Keep your toes crossed for me! ;0).
I made this card for the swap my sisters and I do. The stamped image is from Inkadinkado. It is a Birthday set that is so cute! Cardbase is Green Galore, layered with Lovely Lilac. The panel to the left is Pink Passion, run thru the Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday EF. All aforementioned cardstock is from Stampin' Up!.
Pattern paper is DCWV. Brads are from JoAnnes.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Julee's Mojo Monday #53 Challenge

Good Thursday to you! I hope your Fall days are turning nicely..... don't you just love to watch the trees turn color!!! I have a park behind me with several trees and I really enjoy watching them grow and change colors in the fall, then in the spring get all those beautiful new leaves. I have three of my own trees in my yard and they are beautiful, but I must admit that raking the leaves is a chore........ Leaf Pile

Rejoice in Today

Happy Tuesday! I have another busy computer day. I am finishing a brochure for my hubby and his partner, it has been a process, since they want something much more professional looking than they had ordered in the beginning. It is good to get experience with programs I have not learned, so I guess even with the frustration-it's all good. :=)
Today's card is a gentle reminder to self to not let negativity creep in when I hit that frustration level. I used to just give up, but have learned to just take a few steps back, take a deep breath and try again. (SCS is a great stress reliever at these times)

Cardbase is Pacific Point layered with Confetti White. I used my Scallop Edger on the patterned paper, as well as another piece of Confetti White. The sentiment piece is layered on Brilliant Blue and stamped with Tempting Turquoise. The corners were punched with the Ticket Corner Punch and then blingage was added at each corner. 1 1/4 inch ribbon completes the card. ( i sure can't figure out that fuzzy spot on my pic.....)
OH! I finally got the call I have been waiting for, I have an interview on Friday morning! I will also be ordering my new laptop that I have been working towards this summer.......It's gonna be a great day!
Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Happy Harvest #2

Good Day to you all. Sorry I have been MIA these last few days.....life happens! We spent the day yesterday with our daughter-in-law and g-babies at the Gunfighter Skies 2008 Air Show at the air base near us. What an AWESOME display and show of our military power and support! Our son was not with us, as he is in Afghanistan. This is a show he loves and we certainly missed having him with us. We were pretty teary eyed as the jets that he maintains were performing. We LOVE you Jim! Below are a few pics of the Thunderbirds who also performed. They are certainly a finely trained group of individuals who showcase the Air Force for us.

The Thunderbird aircraft, parked before the show. They are beautiful!

One of their most famous formations. This is awesome to see, as these jets are traveling at a high rate of speed, with little space between them The pilots carry so much responsibility, not only for their aircraft, but for those in the other 5 jets flying with them.
Now, on to my card......(thanks for your patience ;0) )

The cardbase is Tangerine Tango, layered with More Mustard, Confetti White and a small strip of pattern paper from DCWV. Stamp set is Happy Harvest (retired SU). Ribbon and brads are from JoAnns.
(I apoligize for that glare in the middle....these old eyes don't seem to be working today)
Thanks for stopping by today, I'm hoping to keep up a little better this week!! Have a happy day! God Bless!

OCC Birthday Challenge

Good Day! I just love these OCC challenges! Take some time and hop on over to the Our Creative Corner blog and check these ladies out. They are sure to keep you smiling. This week we were to create a humorous birthday card for the September hostess, Amy Sheffer. She has a BIG birthday this week....HAPPY DAY TO YOU AMY! Below is the card I created for this challenge. It turned out pretty fun !

Cardbase is heavy black cardstock, layered with Real Read (Stampin' Up!), then cut with my Fiskars Treading Water Punch. The DP in the center section is from DCWV. I layered the image with the red and black again, then added small round brads. (JoAnns) The black plaid ribbon is from Offray, purchased at JoAnns. Image is from Inkadinkado.

Thanks for stopping by today. God Bless!

Julee's OSW Challenge!

Good day to you all! Well, I put my boots and shades on and stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a new challenge this week! Julee had posted a "One Sheet Wonder" challenge on her blog

Poetic Artistry, as one of her Mojo challenges. I decided to try it and I must say, it was a challenge for me. As you know rulers/measurements and I don't always get along! (I can take you computer apart and put it back together again, but don't ask me to measure ANYTHING and have it come out okay!) So, my DH cut the paper for me! (He's a contractor, so he CAN measure correctly!) The rules required that we make 4 cards using one 6 x 6 piece of double-sided DP, (and of course other cardstock for the base). After giving him a kiss for helping me out, I then set out with the sketches and below is what I came up with. I liked how they turned out.

As you can see, I struggled with the lighting, I shot pics in the evening and didn't like them, so I waited until morning and still ended up with shadows. Then the wind started to blow and I was worried about not getting these posted in time.........but life goes on ;>).

All cards started with a Ruby Red base, I layered with Cameo Coral and Retired Stampin' Up! DP (Sorry). The stamp sets used are Absolutely Fabulous and Oh, So Lovely. Embellishments include; Ribbon-Stampin' Up!, Brads-JoAnn's, GinaK Designs, Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots EF, Treading Water Edger-Fiskars and of course Close to Cocoa ink from SU.

This was definitely a great challenge ! I encourage you to try one some time. Have a great day! God Bless!

With the Smallest Seed.....

With the smallest seed of faith, all things are possible. A good thing to remember during those tough times. Its really pretty ironic that the piece of paper you can see the least of on the card was the inspiration! That little piece of Designer paper under the sentiment is what started the whole thing. I wrestled with it for a couple of days. Sure didn't turn out like the picture in my head! (sometimes that is a SCARY thing). Anyway, I guess this card turned out okay.

Stampin' Up! products- Not Quite Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Confetti White cardstock. Leaf stamp was a demo give away. Sentiment-Anticipations Stamps, Accessories-Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots EF, Pearl stickums and the corners. Ribbon.

I have also been working on Julee's OSW (one sheet wonder) challenge. I'm hoping to get those pics posted tomorrow when the light is better .

Mojo Monday 51

Happy Day to you all! This is my entry for the Mojo Monday 51 challenge from Julee at Poetic Artistry. She has a great site, stop in and see her sometime. Her sketches are always fun and get those creative brain cells moving!! As you can see, I'm thinking fall these days.....

Cardstock is Chocolate Chip from SU. Other SU supplies include: Pattern paper( Pumpkin Pie DP-Thanks Trish!), Happy Harvest sentiment, from retired set, Close to Cocoa ink. The cute little button brads were purchased from GinaK and the ribbon is from Offray.
I just spoke with a Network Admin about an application I submitted and I am up for an interview!!! I should get a call in a day or two to set the time!! WOOHOO!!!!
Sorry for the excited outburst there...I've been waiting for this. :0)
Have a wonderful day, God Bless!

Giggle Girlfriends

Another cuppa helped indeed! I had started this card a few days ago and was able to make up my mind to finish it. I'm still not sure that it doesn't need something else?....anyway, I guess its kinda cute. The "girls come from the set "Pocket Fun", retired from Stampin' Up! The "giggle", sentiment is from the Warm Words set, also Stampin' Up!.

Cardstock is Rose Red (sure looks pinky in this light), Close to Cocoa, run thru my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots EF and Berry Bliss DP. Brads are from JoAnns and Ribbon is Offray from Wally World. Sounds like I really get around, huh! (not really, I'm kind of a hermit these days ;>)
Thanks for looking today, and let me know what you think of my funky new background! God bless!

What Do You Think?

Well, I thought I would try to jazz up my look alittle. What do you think? Too much?? I don't want to distract from what I'm doing here, but this looked kinda fun......
Travelled out of town for a funeral yesterday, so didn't get to stamp. I'm hoping I can drag myself out of this stupor soon with another cup of coffee and go play with paper!!!!
Have a great day! Sipping Tea
