Another Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday!  My card today is for my wonderful son-in-law, Jim.  He is truly a gift, he takes such good card of our daughter and their three kids.  I wanted a masculine card and this image from Free Digital Vintage Stamps fit the bill.

Cardstock is from Stampin' Up, as is the green marker I used to color on the car.  Pattern paper is from a paper pack I received from my sister, Terri a few years ago.  I used my Scor-Pal to make diagonal lines in each corner, the photo makes this hard to see, but it looks great when you meet this card in person. The pearls in corners are from Craft Warehouse.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be blessed!

Oh, Happy Day!!! I have been so anxious to post this card. I made it while at my sis, Patti's house about 6 weeks ago. It is for my wonderful son in law, whose birthday is on Saturday.
I know he will get a kick out of this. He DOES NOT dress like this, or have glasses, or wear his hair that way! This image is SO unlike him, but that is what makes it so much fun!! The sentiment does sound like his sense of humor though!

Recipe: Cardstock-Stampin' Up! Oval Nestie-Spellbinders, DSP-SU, Image-I just can't remember, it is from my sis-sorry!
Well, thanks for stopping by! God Bless!!

Asher's 2nd B-Day

Good morning! It has been a while since I posted...hopefully I am back in the saddle. I got to spend time stamping last night. It was WONDERFUL! And then I saw a MOUSE!!!! EKKKK! Luckily, he expired during the night in the trap that was set just for him! I really hate mice, unless they are made of paper, of course......

Recipe: Card base-Stampin' Up!, Pattern Paper-DCWV, Chipboard-SU, Image-TMITA, Glitter-JoAnn's, Kohinoor Pencils- Gina K , Dimensionals-JoAnn's
So- on to my card. I spent time out at my sister, Terri's house over the weekend and had made a card for the Asher-man, who is turning 2 in a few weeks. I stamped colored and put a layout together, put didn't glue everything down before bringing it home. Well, then I saw the free digi that Nina at There's Magic in the Air had on Monday. Nina posts a challenge each Monday, this week was to use any of her images and to have sparkle/glitter on the card. The icing on the cake has sparkle, hope you can see it in the picture. I snatched it up and used it instead. His name is Oscar with Cake, isn't he cute! My daughter's boys love monkeys, so it is perfect. There is only on candle on this cake, but it is okay, Asher can't count! Oscar is just delivering the cake to him......oh, and Becky don't show this to him!! :0)
Thanks for stopping by today! Blessings.......

TMITA Blog Hop Recipe Contest

My card today is for the There's Magic in the Air blog hop. ( the link will take you to Nina's blog where you will find links to her store and the design team members. ) The hop started a few days ago and finishes today. It was really a fun thing to do. To end the contest we were given a digi image and a "recipe" to make a card. For me, it was quite a challenge, as I lean more toward simple cards.
The recipe is as follows:
The card must have:
1 tag
2 textures
3 Patterned Papers
4 Ribbons
5 Brads or Buttons
Well, as you can see from my card, I didn't quite make it. I decided to post it anyway, to let Nina know that I loved the image and appreciate the opportunity to use it. I am missing 2 pattern papers and 2 ribbons. I am in my RV and have a limited supply of stamping goodies with me.......oh well, I had a good time making this card!

Thanks for stopping in today! Hope your weekend is great! God Bless!

Happy Birthday Avi!

My card today is for my granddaughter Avi's 8th
birthday. Her birthday is really on Monday.
I' m sending the link to this post in the card.
Then she will be able to go online and see the card,
plus any birthday greetings that you might
want to share with her. I think she will get a kick
out of it, don't you? So to join the fun, you can
leave her a "Happy Birthday" comment on this post!
We are traveling and can't be there for her big day,
so I hope this makes her smile. Card stock used on
this card is from DCWV. DSP is Stampin'
Up! I used my Cuttlebug and Small Scalloped Nestie
for the circle. The image is a Precious Moments one
from way back. I colored her with my Koh-i-nor pencils
and blended with OMS. There are small pearls around the inside border of the DSP on the circle.

Thanks for stopping in today. God Bless!

More Fun Little Boys .......

This was such a fun card to make. I was inspired by the card made by Theresa Momber and began searching for other samples on SCS. I found several really nice cards, but none of them used cars/trucks. So this is what I came up with.......I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and the story it tells. I know my grandson will enjoy this because trucks are his thing!

Supplies: Cardstock-Gina K, Stampin' Up! Patterned Paper-DCWV Images-SU-Little Trucks (retired) Cuttlebug Diecuts, Markers, Glitter Pen, Fabric Paint

Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails....

......that's what little boys are made of. I have several grandson birthdays to get ready for this summer, so I thought I should get a jump start on the cards. For this one, I ran some patterned paper from DCWV thru my Cuttlebug, using the Divine Swirls EF. I think it gives this card nice background texture. The googly-eyed frog is so cute. I know the boy who gets this card will enjoy them!

Happy Birthday Ki!

Good Morning! It's so good to be back. We got home last Monday, but have been extremely busy catching up and I was called to work a few days also. Yesterday we traveled to our son and daughter-in-laws home for a birthday party. Our youngest grandson turned 1 year old. Ki is such a cutie....he was pretty timid with all the people in his house, but when it came time for cake, he knew just what to do! This is the card I made for him.

Supplies: Cardbase-GinaK Luxury White, DP-Stampin' Up! Red/Blue Cardstock-SU (from the scrap heap ;0) ) The stamped image is from Little Trucks-SU, colored with markers and popped up. I used my Cuttlebug and the Argyle EF for texture. The number "1" is chipboard covered with cardstock.

Hawiian Tourist Inspiration.....

My oldest son turns 30 in a few weeks, (must be new math that he used to calculate is age because I'm only 29!). Anyway, I thought he needed a little dose of age for this milestone, so I got inspiration for his card from the gaudy shirts that older Hawaiian tourists wear! I haven't been to Hawaii, but base my thoughts on the silly movies that one might view about silly tourists on a beautiful island! I don't usually make a masculine card with these bright colors. I did have fun with it though and am pleased at how it turned out. It is also loosely based on this weeks Our Creative Corner challenge.

Supplies:
Card base-Gina K Luxury White, Colored Cardstock, Pattern Paper-DCWV. Stamps- Penguin Paradise (retired), Smarty Pants-both Stampin' Up! Ink-Tuxedo Black-Memento, Markers-SU, Cuttlebug, Argyle EF, Oval Punch-Marvy Dimensionals, Word Window Punch-SU

Happy Birthday Gregan!

Happy Monday! It is indeed a snowy one here in Idaho today. It is supposed to snow for a couple of days, then warm up and melt again.......WINTER, gotta love it!.
Today my card is one I made for my brother-in-law, Greg. In my title I call him Gregan......a fun story that includes that very literal grand daughter I told you about recently. We were all together for a birthday party and Jo asked my sis where "Gregan" was. Well we were a bit confused at first and then realized that she always heard the phrase "Greg and Terri", so in her little mind, he became Gregan. Well, the name stuck!
Supplies: Cardbase is from my stash, don't know who to give credit to. Brown layer is from that same stash! DP is Stampin' Up-Ski Slope. Stamps are Inkadinkado, Brown grosgrain ribbon-Offray. Ink-Close To Cocoa, Mellow Moss-Stampin' Up!

Another birthday card for a grandchild. This one is for my granddaughter who will be 6 years old on Jan. 14. Jo is such a sweet girl. FORE!

I know its getting to cold to golf in alot of places.......but the golfing guy always appreciates a card that reminds him of his hobby. The image comes from an OLD retired Stampin' Up! set called FORE! Striped DP is also SU. Olive DP is from Lasting Impressions, I've had it in my box for years. I have noticed some cards where the paper crimper is being used again, so I dusted mine off and crimped the brown cardstock the golfing images is stamped on. It is also popped up with dimensionals.
Other accessories include: Oval punch from Fiskars and small brushed gold brads from Joanns.
Thanks for looking today. Have a great weekend! God Bless.
