Louisana Swamp Girl

Good morning! Well, I survived the swamp tour. It was really pretty interesting. Although, I can say that each time the boat sidled up to a log where an alligator was sunning himself, I leaned WAAAY back in my seat. The boat was a small one and you could reach out and touch the alligators if you were so inclined. (that would be really stupid, I think! and of course was prohibited.) The tour guide told us that the alligators were much more afraid of us than we were of them....can't really agree with that! :0) My husband took this picture......

This picture looks like you could walk on the "green carpet". In actuality, this is a native plant that floats on the water and keeps the temperature of the water cooler. This was so quiet and peaceful. An interesting thing about this area, was that there was no bad smell. The plants and trees that grow here keep that from happening. It was a fun day and my husband is still smiling about getting to go.
Thanks for stopping by, have a blessed day!

Flowers and Tags

Happy Wednesday! We are in Abbeville, Louisana today and I thought I would post before we go on a "Swamp Tour". I may get eaten by something big and ugly......My hubby wants to go see a real, live swamp, he is intrigued by this since we live in the Pacific Northwest and we don't have that sort of thing there.
So, on to my card. I saw a card done with tags and flowers and just fell in love with the layout. Well, in the end my card didn't end up looking anything like that one, I guess I will try again later. :0).
Card base is GinaK Luxury White. Sentiment is from Theresa Momber's Happy Camper. Small pearls are Martha Stewart, everything else is Stampin' Up! (retired DSP, Tulip image, layering cardstock. Oh, and I colored the images with Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS.
Hope you enjoy! Have a great day and God Bless!

Finally...here it is girls!

Good Morning from warm, humid Texas. We are currently just outside of Austin. We will begin moving again tomorrow, heading toward the Gulf. On to my card today....this is a card for the Sisters Challenge that I do each month. Two of my sisters and I take turns with sketches and such. It is great fun. Anyway, the idea this month was to have some stitching on the card and the layout is from Crazy4 Challenges I believe. (sorry I have lost track of which week it was :0( ). Since I am in my RV and don't have my sewing machine with me, my stitching is faux stitching. I think it ended up look pretty real, though. This is a fall card that I left blank as far as sentiment goes. Soooo girls, you can use it for anything. Cardbase is SU,as well as the layered circles, pattern paper-DCWV. I used my Cuttlebug and Small Scalloped Nestie for the green circle, white circle is cut with a Marvy Punch. The stamped image is from Clear Stamps, colored with Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS. Dew Drops are from Robin's Nest. I used my Mat Stack (SU) and paper piercer to go around the edges and then connected the dots with SU's Chocolate Chip marker.
Thanks for stopping by! God Bless.......

Happy Birthday Avi!

My card today is for my granddaughter Avi's 8th
birthday. Her birthday is really on Monday.
I' m sending the link to this post in the card.
Then she will be able to go online and see the card,
plus any birthday greetings that you might
want to share with her. I think she will get a kick
out of it, don't you? So to join the fun, you can
leave her a "Happy Birthday" comment on this post!
We are traveling and can't be there for her big day,
so I hope this makes her smile. Card stock used on
this card is from DCWV. DSP is Stampin'
Up! I used my Cuttlebug and Small Scalloped Nestie
for the circle. The image is a Precious Moments one
from way back. I colored her with my Koh-i-nor pencils
and blended with OMS. There are small pearls around the inside border of the DSP on the circle.

Thanks for stopping in today. God Bless!
